Hospice of Southern Illinois is a free-standing, community-based hospice program serving 27 counties in southern Illinois, including all of the St. Louis Metro-East. With over 25 years of experience providing hospice care exclusively, Hospice of Southern Illinois is a non-profit corporation that provides care regardless of the patient's insurance coverage or ability to pay.
Hospice of Southern Illinois provides palliative (comfort) care for individuals faced with a serious illness when curative treatment is no longer the patient's choice or option. Hospice care is provided in the patient's home or a home-like setting such as a nursing home or assisted living facility and is available for patients of all ages.
The best time to learn about hospice is before you need it. At any time during a life-threatening illness, it is appropriate to discuss all of a patient's healthcare options, including hospice care.
